Who is GTM37?

After decades in tech—building systems for Fortune 500 companies, scaling startups, and navigating the complexities of enterprise software—we noticed a pattern. The digital tools and strategies that worked for big corporations weren’t translating to the service businesses in our communities.

Local contractors, healthcare providers, professional services, and other service-based businesses were struggling with the same problems: confusing marketing advice, cookie-cutter solutions that didn’t work, and agencies that didn’t understand their unique needs.

So we founded GTM37 with a simple mission: apply decades of tech expertise to create practical, effective digital marketing solutions specifically designed for service businesses. No jargon, no one-size-fits-all approaches—just proven strategies that actually work.

What’s in a Name?

In March 2016, Google’s AI system AlphaGo challenged Lee Sedol, one of the world’s best players of Go—an ancient strategy board game that makes chess look simple. With more possible positions than atoms in the universe, Go was considered the ultimate test for AI, a game too intuitive and complex for machines to master.

Then came Move 37. In their second game, AlphaGo placed a stone in a position so unusual that commentators thought it was a mistake. The move had a 1 in 10,000 chance of being played by a human expert. But it wasn’t a mistake…it was a breakthrough. This single move revealed strategies that humans had missed in 3,000 years of playing the game. AlphaGo won, and the moment became a turning point for how we think about AI’s potential.

Go-to-market strategy is at its own Move 37. The old playbooks are being rewritten. AI is revealing new possibilities. And the boundaries between sales, marketing, partnerships, and customer success are dissolving.
